Elton John's Original Idea

By Dwight Swanson

Sir Elton John (no relation) can imagine no organised religion. See link. He thinks gays will have a better time without it.

Ummm. The idea has been tried. It was called Communism. See the People's Republic of China and North Korea, who have tried to ban organised religion, for current examples of enlightenment towards gays.

BIBLE-BASHER

By Dwight Swanson

This article opens a new approach to the news for the Daily Gazelle. Over the past seven months since the launch of the website the articles have presented a direct critique of media treatments of religion and faith issues in general, and of Christian faith in particular. With reference to newspapers, and the people editors consider to be important voices, the Gazelle attempts to show the frailty of secularist and atheist* attitudes to Christianity. With reference to Christian writers, the Gazelle questions the confident pronouncements of those who would speak for God (of course, while being quite confident in its own correctness!).

The Gazelle now opens another line of enquiry: a direct look at biblical texts used as the basis for opinions. Thus the new heading, ‘Bible-Basher’. (more)
